Jesus gave them this answer: Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. John 5:19
Can you imagine having such a close relationship with the Father that you see and know what the Father is doing each day?
So, Jesus must have started each day by praying through something like ACTS: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication (praying for the day's needs and plans). He would firstly acknowledge and praise and worship his Father.
Then he prayed for himself and the disciples and the nation, and asked the Father to forgive them their sins. "Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing."(We pray this daily: Father forgive us for we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed and in what we have left undone.)
He would be thankful - and then ask the Father to lead him and bless his plans and give him just enough manna for that day.
He connected with the Father every day and spread the day out before him like we spread butter and peanut butter on a sandwich for our daily bread. Then he knew and saw the Father's perfect will. This was his daily 'food'.
Let’s Pray…
Ask the Holy Spirit to create a space somewhere in your day to ask the Father what 'food' you need for that day.
Ask the Father to draw you closer and closer to him as you continue this journey in Lent.
