St John’s Church Wynberg is seeking a live-in Church Verger.

This vital role supports the day-to-day running of our church, helping to care for our buildings, worship spaces, grounds and gardens so that ministry can flourish. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus, enjoys serving people, has a can-do attitude, and will be an active member of our church community.

Responsibilities include opening and closing the property, preparing spaces for services and events, keeping facilities tidy and presentable, gardening and assisting with basic maintenance needs. The ideal candidate is friendly, trustworthy, organised, and able to work independently. As this is a live-in position, the Verger will reside on site and be part of the heartbeat of daily church life. The flat could also work for a married couple.
