Jesus: "But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative - that is the Holy Spirit - He will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you." John 14:26 (NLT)
The words of Jesus tell us that the words of the Father, Jesus and the Spirit speak with one voice and it’s truth endures for ever. There is a unity. The Father sends the Holy Spirit (advocate, representative) in Jesus' name, who will teach and remind us of everything Jesus said to His disciples then, which applies equally to his disciples now.
God does not have any favourites and He desires that each of us as part of the community of St John’s take this message to heart. He also desires that we spend time listening, waiting expectantly as we reflect on His word as recorded for us in the Bible.
This way we will grow our relationship with our tri-une God, be guided and encouraged by His love and peace and be persuaded of our identity in Him. As Jesus said: “...us in Him and He in the Father."
Let's Pray...
that I may fully believe these words of Jesus
that I give priority to wait and listen for the Holy Spirit to speak to me, and to our church community
Ask yourself: How sure am I of my identity in God? Bring your thoughts and your heart to Jesus in prayer now.
