“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-grower.” John 15:1
Jesus is proclaiming that he is the Messiah who is nurtured by his Father. He is the One and Only true redeemer and he is close to the Father, the vine-grower, and is tended by him.
I live in a valley where I have watched the labourers tend and prune the vines, just as our Father tends and prunes us.
But we need to know and believe in the true vine, Jesus, and focus on him and shut out other idols and people - like celebrities - who claim our attention.
Then the Lord will reap a harvest from our diligent labour.
