Word for the Day - 15

Jesus said: “The Father and I are one.” John 10:30

It is astounding to think that Jesus is equal and one with the Father and the Holy Spirit in the trinity. After all he was just like each one of us, but also 100% holy and righteous.

When we look at Isaiah 11 it says of Jesus: “The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding..."

Jesus was unique and divine and the Father's only begotten Son. He was born to save the world and you and me. Yet he identified with us in every way. And when we are 'in Christ' we are also one with the Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I often wonder exactly when Jesus realised he was chosen and one with the Father? I imagine it was when he stayed behind in Jerusalem in 'his Father's house'. But once he was baptized by John the bond was cemented and complete and he and the Father were one.

That empowered him for his earthly ministry.

Let’s Pray…

  • Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you for ministry in your community.

  • Ask to receive the spirit of wisdom and understanding as you impact lives for the Kingdom. Amen
