“Jesus called the children to him and said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it'” Luke 18:16-17.
It's been a bit of a roller coaster ride with children's ministry after coming back to church since 2020. Having no children's worker and a real small team of 6 volunteers holding this ministry space, has not been easy, but we are so greatful for the opportunity to serve the kids in our community.
We see children's church as a light on a hill, where kids can come to feel, hear and learn of God’s love and experience a safe & secure place. Our prayer is that in this space the kids are able to encounter God and experience God's deep and unconditional love for them, accepting them for who they are.
We hope for this ministry to grow but more importantly for the kids to grow spiritually through teaching them the word of God, encouraging them to have faith and how to live it out practically each day as well as through the power of prayer.
We had a great start to children’s church last Sunday, numbers are certainly increasing. One of our biggest needs is for more volunteers to join the very lean team! Many kids are returning to church and we need more hands to ensure that our kids are safe and are cared for in this space.
If you feel lead to assist in any way, whether it is to read a story, help with the crafts or to just be present and assist where necessary, we would really appreciate it. Please feel free to chat to any of the volunteers.
We are excited to see what God has in store for 2023 and we hope to see more of our church community be part of this ministry!!!
