The theme of the prayer ministry retreat last Saturday was: Arise my love, my beautiful one and come away, chosen by Su Crowsen from Song of Songs.
We began just after 9am as we settled in the rustic Cottage with introductions and a cup of warm coffee.
Lynn Pedersen shared the theme of the day with us and handed out leaflets with supplementary scriptures and advice about how to "be still and know that I am God."
As the sun came out we dispersed to the beautiful Garden of Remembrance and the Church, and many of us took a chair outside and found a sunny nook. We sought quiet solitude and stilled our restless hearts and souls to commune with nature and with our Beloved - to draw closer to the heartbeat of God.
Towards the end of the afternoon we had a special time of sharing. A number of the participants found the retreat a wonderful experience of drawing aside and 'coming away' from their busy lives to spend a time of quiet and prayer in the tranquility of St John's.
Thank you Lynn for your valuable input and Su and Mary Jean for making all the necessary arrangements.
