CAPE TOWN PHILHARMONIC YOUTH ORCHESTRA

CYO.jpg

With seven of our young CPYO musicians having proudly and perfectly performed in our inaugural Rotary Concerto Festival, the CPO can say proudly that there is a great generation of musicians coming up to take up the symphonic mantle in this country!

Cellists Chris Njapha and Nwuko Sunday Kelechi, flautist Amanda Lawrence, James George (trombone), Herman de Wee (French horn), David Cyster (clarinet) and bassoonist Liam Slabbert were supported superbly by Brandon Phillips and the CPYO. The venue, the lovely St John’s Anglican Church in Wynberg, was specifically identified as suitable in our search to satisfy new audiences, and was well located for folk from the southern suburbs.
